STRATEGIC PLAN
2003-2008 PROGRAM YEARS

This is a multiyear plan designed to accomplish this Chapter’s and AGA’s mission. As such, it is comprised of four parts. 

• Educational and Professional Development
• CGFM Efforts
• Membership Retention and Growth
• Community Service

The Chapter executive committee must approve this Plan. This is a working plan meant to be fluid and flexible to changing needs and new developments. Thus, actual activities may differ from that described in this plan. In such cases, the Chapter Executive Committee will approve and incorporate any revisions, additions, or deletions to the strategic plan.

CGFM Efforts

Goal 1: Support current CGFMs

• Have a chapter PDC (with the Dallas Chapter) that will provide 16 CPE credits for CGFM holders.

• Identify 5 CPE opportunities from sources outside the Fort Worth Chapter this year and provide them to CGFM members.

• Advertise training opportunities in each Chapter newsletter.

• Advertise the PDC (with a brochure having CGFM designations and advertising the CGFM course) locally to the Federal, State, and local government and private accountability community.
• Encourage CGFM renewals to all Chapter members, using the pro forma letter provided.

• Write four letters to local government accountability leaders to promote CGFM. Use pro forma letter provided. 

• Offer a 4-hour course on the Government Environment.
• Add at least 3 ideas on the list-server.

• Put a tip of the month in the Chapter newsletter and share it with the list-serve.

Membership Retention and Growth

Goals 1 and 2: Growth and New Member Recruitment

• Advertise AGA activities and seek new members at events. Make AGA application and brochures available. Follow up with nonmember participants to discuss AGA membership and its benefits.
• Expand membership base by contacting state and local government entities and private accountants/auditors and other professionals to promote AGA membership.

Goal 3: Retention

• Seek member input into Chapter activities and plans.
• Advertise Chapter activities to the general public.
• Advertise member accomplishments.

Goal 4: Participate in membership recruitment and retention programs.

• Contact suspended members and encourage them to seek reinstatement.
• Participate in the National Get-A-Member campaign.
• Attend local job fairs.
• Invite prospective members to chapter events.
• Advertise member accomplishments.

Community Service

• June 
  • Donate $50 basket to National Community Service Fund for the National AGA PDC

• July 
  • Donate $25 to Salvation Army Food Bank

• September 
  • Chapter members work a Saturday morning shift at the Tarrant Area Food Bank

• October
  • Volunteer dinner party
  • Volunteer at MS Hangman's House of Horrors (Friday evening) to raise money to fight multiple sclerosis.

• November
  • Collect cash donations for Tarrant Area Food Bank

• December
  • Salvation Army Angel Tree - buy gifts for needy children 

• January
  • Conduct toy drive for Tarrant County Sheriff's Dept

• February
  • Collect books and money for the Half Price Books' Half Pint Library

• March / April
  • Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, either participate in the race as a team or work packet pick-up

• April / May
  • Volunteer work at Mayfest
