2005/2006 Meeting Schedule

We meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month, from September through April, at the Hilton Hotel (formerly the Radisson Plaza Hotel), 815 Main Street, Fort Worth, TX  76102 (817-870-2100), unless otherwise noted. Registration begins at 11:00 a.m.  We start through the Cafe Texas buffet line at 11:15 a.m.   Our chapter meeting starts at noon, with the speaker finishing at 1:00 p.m. The cost for the buffet-style lunch is $15 for members and $18 for non-members. We hold our annual golf tournament and picnic in May.

  • 5:30 PM -- Volunteer dinner party at Pappasito's, 2704 West Freeway
  • 7:00 PM - midnight -- Volunteer at MS Hangman's House of Horrors, to raise money to fight multiple sclerosis. We will be working the ticket booth. The volunteer coordinator asks that volunteers work the full evening since business picks up the latter part of the evening.

• March 28, 2006
  • We will be collecting children’s books for the homeless children who spend the day at the YWCA.  The YWCA is requesting books for ages 5 years and younger that the children can bring back to the shelter where they sleep and perhaps have their parents read to them.  Please bring your books to the March 28, 2006 AGA Chapter meeting and we’ll see that the YWCA receives your generous gift.

• April 15, 2006 
  • Our Chapter will be participating in the Komen Race for the Cure April 15, 2006 at Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth. For only $25 you will receive a Komen T-shirt, enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow Chapter members and best of all, help the Komen Foundation with their mission to eradicate breast cancer.This is a 5K noncompetitive run/walk with the warm-up beginning at 7:30a.m. Another option…you can sleep in for $50 and still get that great T-shirt. Register by April 9 and the packet with your T-Shirt and race information will be mailed to you. If our team reaches 10 or more members, a Komen ball cap will be included in our packets.

• May 4, 2006
  • We will return to our annual May volunteer project at Mayfest on May 4, 2006.  Our chapter is scheduled to work the Coke booth from 3:00p.m. – 7:00p.m.  The Mayfest coordinator requests we send the names of our volunteer members so they can forward a parking pass and ticket to enter Mayfest.
