Meeting Schedule for 2007/2008

We held quarterly meetings this year on Wednesdays in October, January, and April, at the Olive Garden, 925 Alta Mere Drive, Fort Worth, TX.  Registration began at 11:00 a.m.   Lunch was from 11:00 - noon.  Our chapter meetings started at noon, with the speaker finishing at 1:00 p.m. The cost for the buffet-style lunch was $15 for members and $18 for non-members.  

We also hosted six audio conferences from November through May, at GSA's South Conference Room in downtown Fort Worth.  The audio conferences were from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.   The cost was   free for chapter members and $30 for non-members.

We held our annual golf tournament and picnic in May.

  • Speaker bio:  Joel Welch has been the Director of Finance for Haltom City since April 2004.  He has been involved in public service at the local level for over 27 years with 5 cities and special units with over 15 years as a Chief Financial Officer.  He earned his BBA in Accounting from Lamar University and is a Certified Government Financial Manager and a Certified Government Finance Officer.  He is married and the father of three children.
