The Fort Worth AGA chapter
received the following
awards for the 2008/2009 program year, presented at the AGA national
PDC in New Orleans, June 21-24, 2009
- Bob Kanaga was awarded
the Group E Chapter Service Award: "In recognition of Mr.
Kanaga’s hard work and dedication to revitalizing AGA’s Fort Worth
Chapter. A member of the chapter for 25 years, Mr. Kanaga contacted
government representatives in the area and helped organize a
revitalization meeting, which resulted in agency support, monthly
chapter executive committee meetings, audio conferences and community
service events." This national award recognizes
individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to their
chapters.

We held a special
chapter revitalization meeting on August 28, 2008. We hosted ten audio conferences from
September through May, at the Fritz
G. Lanham Federal Building
in downtown Fort
Worth. We held our annual golf
tournament and picnic in May. We did not hold
any members luncheon meetings this program year.

Public Service Activity Schedule for
2008/2009
- November 2008
- Buy gifts for
Salvation Army Angel Tree Angels
- AGA members Paul
O'Connor, Lakshmi Krishnamurthy, and Bob Kanaga each volunteered
to fill an Angel Tree "Angel"'s wish list. The
gifts were collected on November 25th and turned in to the
Salvation Army on November 26, 2008. The chapter reported 150
chapter recognition points for this event.

- Bob and Cindy
Kanaga helped several Meadowbrook Middle School art students
paint the front windows of the Meadowbrook Middle School for
the holiday season. The project took two hours to
complete and was inspected by the school principal at
completion. The chapter reported 100 chapter recognition
points for this event.

Tarrant Area Food Bank's Empty Bowls fundraising event
- March 2009

Krishnamurthy volunteered for two 3-hour shifts at the Fort
Worth Presbyterian Night Shelter in March.
